Six Unique & Interoperable Genesis Passes

Our NFTs will be one of the first dynamic NFTs - when the city of Hong Kong rains, a rain animation will be layered on top of the existing NFT. Our NFTs are built with ERC-1155 smart contract. By owning one NFT, it will enable you to participate and be a part of our community to design the story and roadmap. Owning multiple NFTs will reward you with even more benefits, secrets, and surprises. NFTs displayed here are final versions in the form of a gif allowing you to visualise the dynamic effects.

Why we decided on passes rather than PFP's

There are a couple of reasons to this. We felt that a lot of projects who did PFPs were derivatives of other successful projects, or were low quality PFP projects where the founders hired a freelancer to do a quick job. These projects tend to rely on hype and empty promises, only for the projects to disappear shortly after mint. We felt that PFPs left a bad taste with the NFT community.

More importantly, the founder, Ryan, initially wanted to create a closed community where people could share umbrellas with each other whenever someone forgets to bring their umbrella and was in need of one. He believed that through acts of kindness such as sharing an umbrella, people could develop real relationships with each other, such as a new client, a new friend, or even a new love. He felt that since Covid, people became more isolated and self-centred from each other, and so he wanted those with passes to have access to use this sharing umbrella platform.

This idea soon pivoted as there just wasn't enough people in the NFT community, let alone the NFT community in Hong Kong, to make the sharing umbrella platform work as ad hoc as he wanted.

What we did realize though, was that people loved our artworks, our storytelling and our wager meta initiative. Soon thereafter, we shifted to the concept that owning one of our passes will enable you to participate and interact with the creative direction and storytelling aspect of the project. We also have ideas to encourage people to own multiple passes that will be revealed at a later date.

Combining with the wager meta where there are risks to level up and down in our discord, we stray away from being a project where holders try to flip an NFT just for higher profits, into a project where NFT holders will want to trade or buy / sell NFT passes occasionally, participate in our community games and voting for creative direction, while receiving many benefits and rewards along the way. Underlying all that, we continue to believe in the spirit of kindness and of meeting people and helping them, and we hope that our project can create a bond between our community members through online and offline interactions and through our storytelling.

That being said, there may possibly be an opportunity for PFPs down the line or something similar, but again this is something the community members will have to vote for. Nothing is guaranteed in our project, and there are risks, but that's what makes this project fun and worthwhile to participate. And don't worry, our PFPs won't be a derivative, an imitation, or low quality ;)
